Before We Start – Scavenger Hunts And Treasure Hunts

Although this book is titled Scavenger Hunt Secrets, the methods and information you will get out of this book can easily translate into a treasure hunt. Saying that, lets briefly have a look at the difference.

This question is asked a lot and normally I get yelled at when I answer it because I believe there is no major difference between the two. One will have people collect things along the way and the other they will mark or record something about the clue along the way. Thats my definition and I am sticking to it .

So Why Run A Scavenger Hunt

There is only one way to answer this question. Lets explore what other people get out of running scavenger hunts. Recently we surveyed a whole bunch of people and got many reasons why they run hunts but the most common across the range of people were

Low cost
Fun, enjoyment and excitement
Accomplished and challenged
And the biggest was for the kids.

Now if you read that list again you can see that all the major things many people crave simply are yours by running a successful hunt. If you crave the admiration and respect of your friends, kids and even your peers than there is no better way to get it than running a hunt. Your on the right track.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks people find when running their hunt is they don’t have the confidence in themselves. And that is natural. If you are not one who would normally be organizing morning teas or parties or anything then its is perfectly normal for you to be feeling this way. For now, I want you to have faith in yourself that you can do this with the help of this book and that we will show you the way to get past this stumbling block.
